What's up with these Internet Moguls nowadays?
eBay has a ton of state attorney general's investigating them for massive FRAUD!
We just did an expose on Amazon yesterday.
And now today I get a message to check out the new YAHOO STORE scam!
Yahoo is soliciting people to open up a STORE under the Yahoo Domain.
Innocent enough.
They say HERE'S A FREE 30 DAY TRIAL to our YAHOO STORE!
Take it for a TEST DRIVE for 30 DAYS.
Okay, let's do it.
Well Yahoo wants your credit card FIRST to get the FREE 30 DAY Trial!
Fair enough, but many state attorney's consider such a demand to be a SIGN FRAUD is about to occur.
Most state's AG's will tell you, beware if you have to submit a credit card on-line for a FREE TRIAL.
Many companies ask for it, especially in the on-line PORN BIZ!
It's not illegal, but I've never seen a public company do it.
So YAHOO gets your credit card to do a FREE TRIAL, fair enough.
Then you have 30 days to cancel.
Once you give them all your personal info, you get an opportunity to waste about a half of an hour picking out the layout of your new Yahoo Store.
Fine, we're almost there now, Right?
WRONG
After you give them your credit card and after you design your TEST STORY, Yahoo then gives you a list of more hoops to jump through to get your FREE 30 DAY STORE!
Number one on the list of 5 things.
You have to give all your sensitive financial information to a third party to get a merchant account!
While eBay will process transactions for you in their store, and so does Amazon, Yahoo is now pushing you off to a third party who requires your Social Security number and bank info, etc. so you can get your FREE YAHOO 30 DAY TRIAL!
Can you say SCAM!
Or can you spell FRAUD!
How many people are wasting how many hours jumping through Yahoo hoops for a FREE TRIAL to only find out there is not such thing.
Now Yahoo says it's 50 bucks a month to have your store.
It's about another 25 bucks a month to get your merchant account.
That's almost one thousand dollars a year to have your Yahoo Store!
SCAM
FRAUD
Expect to be hearing some state attorney general's going after Yahoo for this blatant fraudulent ad campaign!
THERE IS NO FREE 30 DAY STORE TRIAL AT YAHOO
Diana Lee in the Yahoo Press Relations Department had no comment!
