Clonings first SUPER STAR Dolly the UK Sheep has defective genes.
The prestigious Science Journal of Nature is reporting Thursday, that something is wrong with the genes of Dolly.
It was also predicted according to the report.
Deep in the DNA of the cloned animal is a kind of Chromosome aging chart called TELOMERES.
Telomeres are used as a guage by DNA researchers to judge the age of cells. Dollys' Telomeres reflect the age of the animal it was cloned from!
So the big question is, "Is Dolly 3 years old or 6 years years old, since her genes reflect the Telomeres of a sheep 6 years in age, rather than her birth age of only 3."
Offspring of Dolly do not reflect the Telomere aging defect of their mother, since they have half the DNA of the father sheep. Speculation as to who was the father, Clintons' name keeps surfacing!
Since Telomeres control the aging cycle of cells, it looks like Dolly will age prematurely.
But her offspring may live normal lives.
